Over the past decade, Guy Verlinde (Aartrijke/Gent, °1976) has dominated the Belgian blues scene, toured Europe non-stop with his bands “The Mighty Gators” & “The Houserockers” and has won several music awards. He recorded 15 albums in 14 years for Parisfal, Dixiefrog and R&S Records, and has played many prestigious clubs & international festivals where he shared the bill with greats such as: B.B. King, John Fogerty, Tony Joe White, Santana, John Hiatt, Canned Heat, Jeff Beck … He is often referred to as the hardest working man of the Belgian blues scene. In recent years Guy Verlinde has been a founding member of the new thriving Ghent Blues scene and developed several educational concerts & projects for schools. But most of all, Guy keeps on touring as a solo act and as a duo with the young musicians Olivier Vander Bauwede (harmonica & guitars) or Tom Eylenbosch (piano & banjo), performing his acoustic listening songs, and showing that besides the blues, he also is at home at the Americana & Singer-Songwriter genre. With his album “Standing in the Light of a Brand New Day”, Guy took a new step in his musical and lyrical evolution. To reproduce the bigger sound and arrangements of the album, he now tours with his new band “The Artisans of Solace”. The band delivers intense high-quality concerts while coloring Guy’s musical stories about love, loss, hope, resurrection & the positive power of music with sound. They recently released a live album: Live At Minard.
Guy Verlinde plays a blend of blues, blues rock, Americana, and singer-songwriter material, known for his energetic performances and prolific releases.
