Hexistence

Hexistence is a groove metal band from Budapest, Hungary, originally formed under the name Philosophers Stoned in 2018. While their early music was heavily influenced by occult themes, the band has since evolved toward a more personal direction — tackling issues like anxiety, alienation, and the tension within social relationships. Their sound is defined by groove-based riffs, tight rhythms, a contrast between clean and harsh vocals, and a dark yet hopeful tone. The current lineup stands out in many ways: led by two vocalists who complement each other both thematically and technically, backed by a tight, powerful instrumental section. Their first release in this formation, Such a Shame, captures the band’s vision: fierce, dramatic storytellers tackling universal themes with a direct hardcore edge, crushing instrumentals, and soaring metalcore choruses. Hexistence offers a sound that is rare on the Hungarian scene: raw, modern, and emotionally deep. The band is actively seeking platforms where their music can reach wider audiences — connecting through themes that often remain unspoken.
