Inertia Creeps

Inertia Creeps formed in L.A. in 2024. Josh, the drummer, plays lefty but is mostly right-handed. James is left-handed but plays a standard righty guitar. Nate and James take turns singing, with a snarly/melodic dynamic that reflects their shared love of Fugazi and White Album–era Beatles. Darren makes gentle ambient music when he’s not ripping thunderous bass lines. Nate wrote a song based on a short story by Ted Chiang. James wrote a song based on a short story by George Saunders. Another song is so indebted to ’90s alternative they nicknamed it “Chains Addiction.” All four members are L.A. transplants, with roots in Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, and the Bay Area. Nate and James met as teenagers, when Nate’s band toured through James’s hometown. Inertia Creeps love being loud together, in the practice room and in rooms full of people. They’ll make you feel something or break several strings trying.
