JHONATAN OSPINA

Born in Colombia, based in the United States, and frequently active in São Paulo, Jhonatan Ospina is a dj and producer. Very early on he developed a strong interest in electronic music, blending powerful rhythms and deep sound textures to create a hypnotic, emotional, and meaningful atmosphere on the dance floor. The solo project of Jhonatan Ospina stylistically moves between melodic techno, minimal, and progressive techno. During his sets, he uses the theremini—a modern Moog synth—and other live techniques to craft a unique hybrid performance. This mastery sets his work apart and has been featured in high-level productions, including a live set from the Theatro Municipal in São Paulo. From 2021 to the present, Jhonatan has had success with significant releases on labels like Kollektiv Black and the Brazilian label OMNES Records. His tracks "Awakening" and "Be Free" both reached the Beatport Top 100 in the Melodic House & Techno category. Additionally, the music video for his track "Mystery" has won awards at the Miami Street International Film Festival, Rome Prisma Film Awards, and New Jersey Film Awards.
