Νοσταλγικός, underground καλλιτέχνης early music
Thanks for checking out my music and for you interest in who I am! I am an American bass singer and lutenist living in Munich, Germany. Growing up in Minnesota, I learned to love music, singing in Church and school choirs, performing for talent shows, learning to play guitar and writing my own songs. I was exposed to and appreciated a wide variety of music. Today I have my own group, Ensemble Phoenix Munich, which is celebrating 20 years of existence. Back in 2003 we released a CD called "Orpheus, I am" and since then I have made programs of Renaissance and Baroque music from England, Italy, France, Spain, and Germany. I like to take risks and I have the need, after having such a long career in early music, to broaden the scope of what I do with new, creative projects. One of those is "A Day with Suzanne-A Tribute to Leonard Cohen", which combines my interest in Cohen's music and my knowledge and fascination with French Renaissance Chanson. Other projects, also on Spotify, where I arranged music, texts or wrote completely original songs are "The Elfin Knight" and "Requiem for a Pink Moon". I hope you will visit my web page for more information! www.joelfrederiksen.com
