Jonathan Saraga

Jonathan Saraga is an internationally-acclaimed, New York City-based trumpeter, composer, arranger, producer, educator and Doctor of Musical Arts. Since 2009, he has received 30 international awards for musical excellence from organizations such as the International Trumpet Guild, the School for Improvisational Music, the Banff Center, Chashama, the National Parks Arts Foundation, the Millay Colony, the Recording Academy, the ASCAP Foundation, Chamber Music America, Unsigned Only, the International Songwriting Competition, the Association for Popular Music Education, the International Society for Improvised Music, Downbeat Magazine, Broadcast Music Inc., the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers, United States Artists, the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation, the Jazz Foundation of America, and the Afro-Latin Jazz Alliance. He has played in internationally acclaimed ensembles such as Brass Against, the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, Darcy James Argue's Secret Society, the Birdland Big Band, the Mingus Big Band, Orrin Evans' Captain Black Big Band and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra.
