Kamran Sadeghi

Iranian-born American electronic music producer Kamran Sadeghi operates in the worlds of both experimental dance music and sound / video art. Extremely process oriented, he uses custom-designed instruments, field recording, and acoustic techniques to create immersive sound worlds. As a diasporic child of a revolution he was isolated and unable to mirror his surroundings. This cemented Kamran's embrace of the world as a nonconformist. Initial goals of becoming a drummer gave way to a fascination with synthesis. His album Music for Pictures No.1 is a window into his soundtrack work. Disappearing Music (for Nam June Paik) was created while using Paik's Wobbulator. Loss Less was recorded inside a nuclear cooling tower. 42.41 was made in collaboration with Zimoun. He worked for composer Morton Subotnick and multi-channel Sound Art gallery, Diapason. Active in the New York contemporary music scene, he performed at Issue Project Room, Experimental Intermedia and The Stone. As a music producer and composer Kamran has worked with Patti Smith, Sasha Waltz, Jean-Luc Godard on such labels as Vinyl Factory, Sacred Bones, Apollo Records.
