Kimberly Haynes

Kimberly Haynes is a singer-songwriter, cantorial soloist, and grief coach whose music lives where sorrow and grace meet. For more than twenty years she has served as cantorial soloist at Ahavat Torah in Los Angeles, and from her home in Topanga Canyon, California, she has built a body of work that moves fluidly between sacred song, world music, and cinematic composition. Her voice first reached a wider audience through her acclaimed new age and world recordings, earning the 2016 One World Music Album of the Year for "Awaken Me," the 2021 Global Peace Song Award for "Narrow Bridge," and dual 2024 New Age Notes Radio Awards for "The Enchantment." Her most personal work, "Into The Light: Songs of the Space Between Loss and Life," is a cinematic, orchestral song cycle seven years in the making, dedicated to her late husband, Brian. Written across the years surrounding his illness and passing, it moves through anticipatory grief, devotion, release, and the quiet courage of continuing to live. Every song is a prayer. Brian's own voice can be heard on the title track, whose opening lines, born in his final days, were later shaped in collaboration with acclaimed songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman. The album weaves Hebrew prayer, Sanskrit mantra, Celtic folk melody, and Spanish lullaby into a single, coherent journey. It is not a record about grief so much as a record of what comes after: how love endures, how the light returns, and how we learn to carry loss and keep moving forward.
