KOYOT Alternative Rock Band Nêhiyaw & Mètis | Treaty 4 From snow-capped mountains to shimmering prairies, KOYOT’s music reflects the landscapes and stories of the Canadian Prairies. Atmospheric soundscapes meet yearning guitars, psychedelic bass, subtle grooves and honest songwriting, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. The band brings together Nêhiyaw vocalist and songwriter Wade Lavallee (Calling Rivers), Métis bassist and songwriter Donavin Logan, lead guitarist Harin Joshi, and Métis drummer Dex Yadlowski. Their different backgrounds and influences come together in a sound that draws from alternative rock, indie and folk. KOYOT recently completed the Toga da wôhnagabi Indigenous Singer Songwriter Residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and received nominations for Fan’s Choice and Rock Group of the Year at the Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Association Awards. In September 2026, KOYOT will bring their music to Europe for the first time, with performances in Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Berlin, highlighted by an official showcase at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, one of Europe’s leading international music industry festivals. The European dates mark an important new chapter for the band as they bring their atmospheric, Indigenous-rooted alternative rock to audiences beyond Canada and continue building an international presence.
