Leibniz makes music that lives in the spaces between noise and melody, digital and analog, club and living room. Since his early releases on Fourth Wave and the gritty techno imprints of Leipzig, the Berlin-based producer Moritz Paul has been shaping the edges of club music, making connections between hardware knobs, the DAW, and the feeling of being awake too long. With his recent releases, from the stepping bangers of his Rat Life 12" to the dubby pulse of Corridor on Peach Discs, the co-founder of the hundert label keeps a unique sound throughout the gerne hopping of his tracks. Drawing from early 2000s techno, UK garage, and the ambient warmth of Kompakt’s Pop Ambient era, Leibniz crafts grooves that dig deep and keep a a crowd moving. It’s the kind of tracks that linger long after the lights come back on.
