Baltimore born yet raised between there and his parents home country of Guyana, South America. Les grew up with his single mother and 3 siblings living deep in Guyanese jungles until returning to his birthplace of Baltimore when he was 9. Throughout his childhood and into adulthood Les suffered and still suffers from stage fright, thought not to the level it used to be, it is still apart of his life to this day. Stepping out of his musical shell for the public to witness thanks to 2 particular friends, finally Les started to sing as a way to make a living in Key West, Florida. From duo Applerouth Ln. to Patrick & The Swayzees now Les Greene & The Swayzees or simply The Swayzees. Les has found his permanent path in music. His influences include anyone from the likes of the greats Sam Cooke, Nina Simone and Little Richard to Queen, Lauryn Hill, TLC and many more on a diverse list of artist that inspired him to take the stage. Most recently, Les has lended his vocals to be featured as the iconic Little Richard in the latest Baz Luhrmann film “Elvis” and its Grammy nominated soundtrack. “Another Me” is the latest single off the upcoming project by Les Greene. Les is hard at work on his first solo project that will feature his band The Swayzees but will have a different sound than the what had been released in the past. He say “this album is all of his younger selves songs that never got their chance to see the light of day” and now they will.
Les Greene plays a blend of soul, rock and roll, and R&B, drawing influences from classic artists like Sam Cooke, Nina Simone, and Little Richard.
