LEX, a rapper from Thessaloniki, Greece, is considered the most influential hip-hop artist of his generation, achieving mainstream success through his solo work. He debuted in 1999 with the group Voreia Asteria, pioneers of rap in Northern Greece, with their albums Xalara (2003) and Xalarotera (2004) celebrated as classics. In 2007, he teamed up with Mikros Kleftis to form the duo Anapoda Kapela, leaving a lasting impact with tracks like O Tipas Pou Den Pas. Lex's solo debut, Tapeinoi Kai Peinasmenoi(2014), featured vivid descriptions of urban life and his signature slow flow, earning widespread acclaim and millions of streams without mainstream media promotion. His second album, 2XXX(2018), went platinum, with his influence peaking in June 2019 when he became the first Greek solo hip-hop artist to perform for over 10,000 fans in Athens. Hits like Tipota Ston Kosmo and Oxi Simera further established his reputation, earning Gold and Platinum certifications. In May 2022, LEX released Metro, which achieved double-platinum status and led to a historic Athens concert attended by 30,000 fans. A series of massive sold-out shows across Greece followed. His fourth solo album, G.T.K., released in November 2024, further solidified his standing as Greece’s top hip-hop artist, known for his groundbreaking achievements and loyal fanbase.
