Libel

Libel is the pet/passion project of one Gavin Dunaway, a longtime fixture of the Brooklyn indie rock scene who also trudged various bands around DC clubs back in the aughts. He’s joined by frequent collaborators Julie Rozansky and Justin Gonzales. The sound features Gavin’s Bowie-esque vocals slicing through post-hardcore riffage, with an occasional sprinkling of shoegaze textures. Gavin likes to describe it as if the Thin White Duke paid $5 to attend a mid-90s Fugazi show and said, “Guys, have you thought about more stomp pedals?”
