Máire Ní Chathasaigh

Máire Ní Chathasaigh is a celebrated Irish harpist, composer, and singer who revolutionized the traditional repertoire by recording the first harp album of Irish dance music, The New Strung Harp, in 1985. Honored as the Gradam Ceoil Musician of the Year, she is renowned for her intricate ornamentation and dynamic technique. Alongside her longtime duo collaborator Chris Newman, she continues to push the boundaries of Celtic acoustic music.
