Maquillage

MAQUILLAGE, formed in 2022 by singer and guitarist Gioia Podestà and bassist and producer Nick Symoens, has quickly become a notable presence in the Belgian underground music scene. Their debut EP, "Kabuki Brush" released in March 2024, blends post-punk and shoegaze elements, garnering attention and leading to participation in prominent Belgian contests such as Soundtrack, Maanrock Rally, and Humo’s Rock Rally. In the summer of 2024, the band's lineup expanded with the addition of Walter Marantino at the synth, Jeroen Huyzentruyt at the guitar and August Corthouts at the drums, further enhancing their sound. They performed at Leffingeleuren Festival alongside artists like Whispering Sons and King Hannah, and opened for Belgian shoegaze band Newmoon at Trix in Antwerp. The year culminated with an Italian tour in December 2024 for the In a State of Flux festival/ management. Currently, Maquillage is in the process of recording their debut album, set for release in September 2025, in collaboration with Silverback Artist Collective and Shore Dive Records.
