Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar, founded in 1994 by Jaime Cuéllar, has captivated audiences for over 30 years with dynamic musicianship and vibrant performances. Now led by Jimmy Cuéllar, the group is one of Los Angeles’ premier mariachi ensembles, sharing the stage with icons like Juan Gabriel, Alejandro Fernández, and Pepe Aguilar. They’ve performed at major venues nationwide and recently appeared on Tiny Desk Concerts with Camila Cabello, highlighting mariachi’s global reach. Their viral collaborations and high-profile appearances—including at the White House—continue to elevate their reputation as one of California’s leading mariachi groups. Originally from Bakersfield, California, Jimmy Cuéllar began his mariachi career as a teenager alongside his father, Jaime Cuéllar, and was a founding member of Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, he spent a decade with Mariachi Los Camperos and has performed with artists including Lila Downs, Aida Cuevas, and José Feliciano. A three-time Grammy Award winner and nominee, Jimmy is also a composer, arranger, and educator. He holds a degree from California State University, Long Beach and pursued graduate studies at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He currently serves as head curriculum writer for the mariachi program at Orange County School of the Arts and leads CUE Music in Montebello, CA, mentoring the next generation of musicians.
