Markus Nikolaus

Markus Nikolaus is the singer and co-founder of the Berlin-based duo Lea Porcelain, whose debut single “Out Is In” was premiered by Zane Lowe on Apple Music and quickly drew international attention. Together with producer Julien Bracht, he developed a darkly atmospheric mix of post-punk and electronica, leading to acclaimed albums and extensive tours across Europe, including shows with Apparat and alt-J. During the pandemic, Nikolaus began writing at Funkhaus Berlin, where a new, more psychedelic and uplifting sound emerged. These sessions became his solo debut The Acid Kids, released on his own label Porzellan Bar. Introduced with singles like “Bicycle Day” and “Hold Me Close”, the album expands his vision into brighter, playful territory while retaining the introspective depth that defines his work.
