Underground καλλιτέχνης indie rock
Mat Hook makes big, melodic guitar music. After stepping away from music for a decade, the Sheffield singer-songwriter returned with a different perspective — older, less chaotic, more reflective, but still chasing the same feeling that made him make music in the first place. His songs sit in the space between euphoria and unease: wanting more while being grateful for what you have, feeling settled but never quite still, and trying to make sense of the pull between ordinary life and unfinished ambition. Heart-on-sleeve, anthemic and emotionally direct, Mat Hook’s music is less about looking back and more about what happens when the part of you that never switched off finally gets heard again.
Mat Hook plays melodic indie rock and anthemic guitar music rooted in the Sheffield alternative scene.
