MckNasty
MckNasty has lived many musical lives. First recognised as the powerhouse drummer driving UK heavyweights like Labrinth, Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32, and Emeli Sandé, he built his reputation as a musician with unmistakable energy. But his artistry was never limited to the kit. In 2021 he released his independent album As Things Grow, a bold fusion of urban jazz, hip hop, and soul. Entirely self-driven, it featured Kojey Radical, The Mac SiStars, and MPHO the GVN, gained strong streaming traction, and led to sold-out shows that put his name firmly at the front of the stage. That moment opened new doors. Artists he respected — from the Free Nationals to Alex Isley and WizKid — invited him into their spaces, recognising the vision and energy he was bringing into his own. Now, as he turns 40, MckNasty begins a new chapter. His upcoming album Letter to Man (2026) is shaped by personal loss — the passing of his father Alan McKenzie and cousin/bass player Joel Isaac Grant — and asks deeper questions about legacy, vulnerability, and growth. The first single, Familia (ft. The Mac SiStars), drops Sept 12th on Bandcamp and Sept 19th on all DSPs, marking the start of his most honest era yet. MckNasty has become the rare artist who can command the stage both behind the kit and in front of the mic — a musician proving he is, and always has been, #MoreThanJustADrummer
