Metamyther

Metamyther is an experimental electronic music project helmed by Tristan Kneschke that draws from synthwave and industrial as much as it pulls from classical forms. Kneschke's debut album Triumvirs introduced three songs, each unfolding along distinct musical movements, which established the project's framework. Tetractys iterates upon the concept, focusing on the occult mathematical figure of the tetractys, a triangle consisting of ten points, as the inspiration. The four tracks parallel Joseph Campbell's four functions of myth (mystical, sociological, pedagogical, and cosmological) and encompass monumental topics: the birth and struggle of life itself, the peculiar nature of humanity's shared dreams, the aura that exists outside of a work of art that exerts influence upon it, and the waxing and waning of entire universes in a moment. Tachogrammatus is Metamyther's third album, and focuses on the mysterious figure of the title who visits the earth with the album's 5 tracks, each of which describe futurist ways to better live in the world. Kneschke is currently at work on his 4th album, a concept album exploring the idea of ignorance as a pervasive, and very human, disease.
