Micheal Murray is an award winning saxophonist based in Amsterdam. The 27 year old saxophonist comes from Donegal, Ireland. He has been referred to as a 'rising star' of Irish jazz and since beginning his professional career has performed with international artists such as Jason Rebello, Lucian Gray, and Phil Robson, and has studied with some of the worlds most renowned saxophonists and musicians such as Tommy Smith, Ben Van Gelder, Andy Middleton and Jaleel Shaw. He leads the project Micheal Murray's Colourfield, winners of the prestigious Keep an Eye The Records 2024. This project pursues a sound that is the culmination of deeply personal influences from life, music, art and poetry. Rounded Nature is the debut release of the ensemble that features Joy Shechter (Piano), Omer Govreen (Double Bass) and Wouther Kühne (Drums).
