Montoya

I am MONTOYA, a ItaloColombian-born composer, producer and sonic storyteller based in Italy. My musical journey began through classical training in violin and electronic composition, but over the years it has expanded far beyond academic boundaries. I see music as a way of exploring the world, connecting cultures, and creating meaningful encounters between different traditions, sounds, and ways of understanding life. Travel has always been at the heart of my artistic research. Along the way, I collect voices, landscapes, rhythms, memories, and stories, weaving them together like beads on a necklace. From this process emerge my sonic journeys: spaces where electronic textures, acoustic instruments, and ancestral influences coexist and converse naturally. Throughout my career, I have released music with White Forest Records and ZZK Records, collaborated with artists such as Aterciopelados, Rubio, La Chica, and Ricky Martin, and performed across Europe, Asia, and South America. Today, my work continues to be guided by curiosity, exploration, and the desire to build bridges through sound. Each composition is an invitation to travel, to listen deeply, and to discover new ways of connecting with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.
