Mourners Lament is a Doom Death Metal band formed in the year 2004 in Viña del Mar, Chile. Over the first years, a demo (2004) and then an EP called “Unbroken Solemnity” (Descent Records, 2008) were released, taking the band into numerous gigs between the chilean Doom Metal scene. Some line-up changes were made in the next years, taking the band to a minor time of silence while preparing what would be their first full-length release in the year 2017 called “We All Be Given” under the music labels Canometal (CL) and Hammerheart Records (NL). After the first release, the band continued playing live shows in Chile, getting a higher position in the national Doom Metal scene. Later on, new members took drums and vocal duties, and a new line up was formed in 2019, the one that continues until now. This new team brought fresh sounds and spirit to the band, taking Mourners Lament to release a new EP called “Grieving at a Distance” (2022) and to their first adventure in European territory in the same year. After the euro-tour (DE/NL/CZ/BE) which included a gig in the Dutch Doom Days ’22, the band started the process of a new full length release, called “A Grey Farewell”, an album of 6 songs over 65 minutes of an emotional and dark journey between the melancholic sounds of the style that the band has proven to master in and polish over the years. The new album was released on CD (Personal Records) and later on vinyl (Eat My Records) and tape (Manifectation Records).
