Nick Joz is a multi-disciplinary musician based in New York City. A hired gun for many cutting-edge artists in the avant-garde jazz field - recently including Peter Evans, Dan Weiss, Joel Ross, Francisco Mela and Christian Lillinger - Joz’s solo work is electro-acoustic, leading from his primary instruments, the double bass and the cello. His varied methods include improvisation, collage, beat making, vinyl mixing and analog synthesizer solos. Joz’s upcoming recording Hieroglyph & Stuttering is a full-length album of musique concrète featuring an ensemble of some of the most exciting musicians working in experimental and improvised music today. It will be released by Endectomorph Music on October 10th.
