German-Italian conductor, pianist, and composer Nicolò Umberto Foron is recognized as one of classical music’s most compelling young talents. Winner of the 2023 Donatella Flick Conducting Competition and the 2021 Jeunesses Musicales International Competition, Foron has rapidly established a major international presence. His podium work spans Europe’s premier ensembles, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Staatskapelle Dresden, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. On the opera stage, Foron has led productions ranging from contemporary opera premieres to romantic operas. On record, Foron made his Deutsche Grammophon debut leading the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique and Lili Boulanger’s D'un soir triste, a release that earned an Opus Klassik nomination following his receipt of the Förderpreis Deutschlandfunk and Bremer Musikfest-Preis. His discography also features the German Record Critics' Award-longlisted album "The Forest in April" with the Noord Nederlands Orkest. Alongside his orchestral career, Foron performs frequently as a concert pianist, often appearing in recital with his sister, violinist Mira Marie Foron. http://www.nicoloforon.com Pictures: ©Jana Stein ©Knut Åserud / Arctic Philharmonic
