Nikita Korzoun

Saxophonist Nikita Korzoun, born in Tallinn, has always been passionate about jazz. He strives to bring back traditional jazz through his music while adding modern sounds. His inspirations are artists like Cannonball Adderley, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Kenny Garrett, Michael Brecker, and McCoy Tyner. Nikita has performed at various festivals, including Baltic's largest jazz festival, Jazzkaar. His composition “Apfelsoda” won third place in the Uno Naissoo competition, and he was also nominated for the Estonian Jazz Awards. His work can be heard on his debut album "Count To Three." Nikita has studied with musicians such as Dave Liebman, Jukkis Uotila, Aaron Goldberg and others. Nikita graduated from the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School, specializing in jazz, and has also studied at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and Finland's prestigious Sibelius Academy. Nikita also leads several projects. Nikita has collaborated with many jazz musicians, both from Estonia and abroad. Among them are Holger Marjamaa, Aleksander Paal, Joakim Milder, Ara Yaralyan, Raul Sööt, Sofia Rubina, Susanna Aleksandra Veldi, Tõnu Naissoo, and others. Additionally, Nikita has performed both as a soloist and as a section player with big bands such as the New Wind Jazz Orchestra, Estonian Dream Big Band, North Star Big Band. Nikita has also played alongside top artists like Jussi Lehtonen, Lee Pearson II, Benny Bennack III, Raoul Björkenheim, Corcoran Holt, Vernell Brown Jr., Charlie Porter, and others.
