Underground καλλιτέχνης contemporary jazz
After a debut album unanimously praised by critics, NO(w) Beauty returns with its highly anticipated second album, (un)Seen, to be released on January 30, 2026. Recognized as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz, NO(w) Beauty is a French-American quartet co-led by four of the most acclaimed musicians on today’s scene. Their first album, released in 2023, was a revelation and received numerous distinctions: “French Group of the Year” (Jazz Magazine - Jazz News), "Coup de cœur Jazz" (Académie Charles Cros), "Album of the Week" (FIP), “Essential” (Jazz News), "Révélation" Jazz Magazine, and a nomination for the “Évidence” Prize from the Académie du Jazz. (un)Seen is a sensitive exploration of what escapes the first glance — a hidden beauty. The album expands with new electronic textures, the striking presence of a string quartet, and a special collaboration with American folk singer Sam Amidon. Through an audacious mix of modern jazz, European classical music, hip-hop, and electronic sounds, NO(w) Beauty continues to cross stylistic boundaries with great creative freedom — while staying true to its founding impulse: to offer beauty - beauty as an act of resistance. The music of NO(w) Beauty doesn’t aim to please; it aims to move and to elevate. It claims an honest emotion and the will to sublimate the moment. At the crossroads of genres, the group stands as one of the essential formations in today’s jazz — poetic, free, and deeply human.
NO(w) Beauty performs a blend of modern jazz, European classical music, hip-hop, and electronic sounds, known for their critically acclaimed debut album.
The quartet consists of Kevin Peters, Enzo Carniel, Damien Varaillon, and Stéphane Adsuar.
