One could say that Oleg Prilutskiy has come a long way ever since he was just five years old and started to study music at this unique children jazz music school in his native city Rostov-on-Don back in Russia. The big band of this school gave him both inspiration and the opportunity to perform on various stages and festivals while playing with the likes of Alex Sipiagin, Conrad Herwig, Boris Kozlov and Wycliffe Gordon and. Oleg later continued his musical education at the Institute of Culture in Saint-Petersburg, where he immediately immersed himself into the local big city jazz scene. In 2017 he was the winner of the 1st prize at the International Jazz Competition in Rostov-on-Don, which was handed to him by Alex Sipiagin as head of the jury. It encouraged Oleg to apply for the Jazz Master Program at the Amsterdam Conservatorium. There Oleg founded his quintet to play his original compositions in which such jazz movements as cool, post-bop and contemporary are combined with impressionism, improvisation and compositional elements of classical music.
