Opia is a Gothic Doom Metal band formed in 2022, with members hailing from both the UK and Spain. Drawing influence from iconic doom bands like My Dying Bride, Draconian, and Swallow The Sun, Opia crafts a blend of atmospheric heaviness and emotional depth. Their music explores themes of mortality, grief, and the human experience, offering listeners an immersive journey into life’s darker moments. The band’s sound is cinematic in scope, combining slow, crushing riffs with haunting melodies and evocative vocals. Each song explores life’s most somber and reflective emotions, allowing listeners to find solace and catharsis through music. Opia’s debut album, I Welcome Thee, Eternal Sleep, was released on April 25, 2025, via Hammerheart Records. The album reflects the band’s vision, blending mournful passages with moments of intense catharsis, and promises a lasting impact on fans of Doom and/or Gothic metal. Since the release, Opia have signed with AMF Music Publishing and Hold Tight PR, shared stages with acts such as Swallow the Sun, Officium Triste, Saturnus, Godthrymm, Countless Skies and more, and appeared at festivals including Doom Heart Festival and Into the Grave 2026.
