Orchestra Mambo International

Orchestra Mambo International is the UK’s 13-piece Latin big band, igniting dancefloors with salsa, mambo, cha cha cha, and Afro-Cuban jazz. Led by DJ Lubi Jovanovic and trombonist/composer Jonny Enright (Grupo X), they fuse inspirations from Tito Puente , Celia Cruz, and Eddie Palmieri more into a fresh sound. Formed in 2022 for a Tito Puente Puente tribute, their debut sparked sold-out UK shows, including the Fania Records 60th anniversary in Camden with Juanita Euka. The diverse lineup features musicians from Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Congo/Argentina, and the UK, fronted by singer Carlos “Pachanga” Peña. Their acclaimed singles “Mambo Te Llama,” “Baila Mi Cha Cha,” and “Mi Mambo” have lit up global playlists and BBC Radio 6 Music, earning endorsements from Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews, Huey Morgan, and Coco Maria. A December 2024 BBC Maida Vale session for Cerys Matthews’ Christmas show reached 800,000 listeners. Known for electrifying live shows, the band has packed top UK venues and brought their energy to Glastonbury Festival 2025. With fiery brass, driving percussion, and authentic Latin spirit, Orchestra Mambo International sets the standard for contemporary Latin music in the UK.
