ORIA is a four-member metal band from Thessaloniki, Greece, fuses heavy grooves with progressive elements to craft a sound that’s powerful, unique, and always evolving, melding ferocious intensity with cinematic, visceral moments and a sharp focus on thoughtful social critique. In October 2020, ORIA released their debut album, Sublimation(s), which was well-received by local reviewers and metal enthusiasts. Since then, the band has performed at a range of live events and festivals. Now, with their sophomore album, This Future Wants Us Dead, ORIA evolves their signature sound while embracing conceptual storytelling to craft an intense and thought-provoking journey. Set in a ravaged dystopian landscape, its story unfolds through each track, delving into humanity's precarious relationship with technology and progress, resonating deeply with the anxieties of our modern world. Exploring themes of domination, exploitation of both humans and nature, artificial intelligence, environmental collapse, social isolation, and personal redemption, ORIA offers a raw, unflinching reflection on the forces shaping our present and the futures we risk creating.
