Underground καλλιτέχνης indie pop
The Brussels-based three piece's instinct for tasteful production – the slew of vintage synths, guitars and effects pedals used on the LP is enough to open a small shop – is complemented by the fact they're glue-tight as a trio. In addition to powerhouse musicality, there's a playful commitment to experimentation, and a reassuring tenacity for pop melody. Sonically, Paradoxant is continuing along the path paved by Crack Cloud, Suuns, Clinic and Liars. And ultimately it feels something indispensable to Belgium's esteemed alt-music cannon has been added with the birth of the Earworm LP. The band, Paradoxant, may be new but the members are renowned players on the Belgian scene, so their first album has significant interest. Singer/multi-instrumentalist Antoine Meerssemann is also a member of the formidable indie-pop act BRNS. Meanwhile, Romain Besnard is in Ropoporose and Lou Wéry is in Whoman.
