Peyman Yazdanian is an Iranian pianist and a composer. He has written several pieces for solo piano and has composed over 80 motion pictures’ scores for mainly Iranian and asian films. He was trained by pianist Forman Behboud. He attended the courses of Gerhard Geretschlaeger in Vienna and Ginette Gaubert in Marseille. In conducting, he studied under Iradj Sahbai in Strasbourg. His compositions for piano are influenced by Erik Satie, Claude Debussy as well as Sergei Rachmaninoff, he is often related to the romantic style. In 1998, he began writing film music for the legendary Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, the movie was » The wind will carry us » considered as a Classic. Since then he composed between 2 and 4 movie scores every year. Based in Europe since 2023, he released an album of improvisation for Piano, like Keith Jarrett improvisations’ albums. In 2022, Peyman Yazdanian started a partnership with French Label 340Ms, to release several original scores from his back catalog as well as thematic compilations . In spring 2024, he released an album compiling movie score to present a large spectrum of what he recorded.In the vein of Philippe Sarde, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Shigeru Umebayashi to name a few.
He plays neoclassical and romantic piano compositions, often featured in film scores, blending classical influences with a cinematic touch.
