Ponoka is a band from Utrecht, The Netherlands, formed by singer/songwriter Rick de Gier in 2006, and named after the Canadian town Rick grew up in. Ponoka released four albums through the VOLKOREN label, all very well received in the national press. After the last album, Lost in Ponoka, the band quit in 2014. Rick de Gier debuted as a solo artist in 2025, with the Dutch album Vliegtuigsporen boven Houten. For more on Rick and Ponoka visit www.rickdegier.com.
