Portrait Generation

Portrait Generation consists of Meg Groom (vocals and guitar), Harry Groom (vocals, guitar), Sam Chapman (Drums) and Dan Frost (Bass). They are a UK alt-rock band from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, delivering driving guitars, raw energy, and unapologetically honest songwriting. Led by powerful female vocals, they tackle real-world themes head on, turning lived experience into songs that hit hard and linger long after the noise fades. They carve out a sound in the alt-rock scene that is unmistakably theirs. In 2025, Portrait Generation released their debut single ‘Roll The Dice’ and EP ‘Sessions’. The EP was a raw and unpolished live sessions recording captured in Morley’s Studio Southend. Since then, Portrait Generation have released single ‘Grassroots’ in Feb 2026, tackling subjects of class divides within the music industry and how that relates to success. They are continuing to deliver with a release schedule for the year, including an EP later this summer.
