Rokas Jurkus

Praised for his sensitive musicianship and visionary programs, lithuanian guitarist Rokas Jurkus is an active soloist, chamber musician, music producer and orchestra member at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre. Rokas' debut album Mėlyno Smėlio Piramidės (en. The Blue Sand Dunes) is out October 5th, 2023. The guitar has been Rokas' friend since seemingly the beginning of time and the bond of the two continues to prosper with every new touch. Currently based in his hometown Kaunas, Lithuania Rokas is on a mission of showcasing the beauty of the classical guitar to the local community. Rokas is the first ever guitarist to have performed Erik Satie's both ridiculous and simultaneously tragic work of music titled Vexations. The performance lasted 18 hours resulting in a deep temporary change of artist’s consciousness.
