Grassie is a Scottish fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter, gaining a reputation on the circuit for masterful guitar playing, raw songwriting & dynamic sets that traverse traditional folk, acoustic blues and American primitive. Debut album “Where Two Hawks Fly” (released on scene leading label Broadside Hacks) has been championed by BBC 2,3,6 Scotland and has led to tours with Ryley Walker, Daisy Rickman & Gwenifer Raymond and US Tour with Liam Grant. Grassie is well known on the London scene, his unique guitar style finding him collaborating with singers such as Iona Zajac (Pogues), Mataio A. Dean (Shovel Dance) & Katy J Pearson. His debut album has been described as “remarkbly assured” KLOF WFMU “virtuousic pickin’”, Quietus “timeless presence” Guardian “Jansch’s ghost floats majestically” CLASH “Ferocious individuality” MOJO “meditative transporter”.
