Sara Serio

Sara Serio was born in Zurich (Switzerland) as the youngest of four children, after her parents have emigrated from Italy in 1960. Music always played a major role in her family. Musically, Sara has been growing up mainly with neapolitan songs and church music. At the sweet age of 5, she preferred sitting behind the piano instead of playing outside with other children. Playing piano was a major portion in her younger years. During apprenticeship, she already took her role as keyboardist and vocalist in the band «Vita Nuova». After graduating as nursey-school teacher, she’s received leader status and now manages a school with little kids from almost 40 families within the Zurich area. Besides playing piano, both songwriting and singing became bigger and more central elements in her life. Wedding performances, solo gigs with just her piano, or full band concerts gave her great opportunities to grow, both musically and personally. Sara’s songs – talking about joy, hope and love – are an important «safety vent» in her daily life. This motivation is easily audible by the listener. With this in mind, many daily things are just easier with Sara’s music – and hard realities transform into hopeful and intimate moments…
