Underground καλλιτέχνης experimental pop
Los Angeles-based Sarah Register is the enigmatic experimental guitarist who currently performs with Kim Gordon and contributed to her GRAMMY-nominated album The Collective. Before her work with Gordon, Register co-founded the cult New York avant-pop duo Talk Normal, a favorite of Sonic Youth, Wire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Lydia Lunch among others. For her solo debut, she teamed up with producer Nick Sylvester (MØ, Channel Tres, Yaeji) to craft a pair of records that recall both the work of noisy No Wave greats like Glenn Branca and Yoko Ono and the sweet mystery of pop artists like Ethel Cain and Oklou. "Right" / "Does It Hurt" is her solo debut, out now on smartdumb.
Sarah Register plays experimental avant-pop music, drawing influences from No Wave and contemporary pop artists.
