Underground καλλιτέχνης dub
From the hills of Paris Montmartre comes Guillaume “Gee” Metenier, the man behind Soul Sugar. A master of vintage keyboards — from the Hammond B3 to the Clavinet and Rhodes — he brings deep soul and reggae grooves to life. A student of the legendary Dr. Lonnie Smith, Gee carries the spirit of organ greats, stretching from Jimmy Smith, to Booker T, Art Neville, and Jamaica greats like Jackie Mitoo and Augustus Pablo. He collaborates with an all star cast of musicians and singers from Paris and all over the world to create a mix of soul, reggae, funk and dub.
Soul Sugar plays a blend of soul, reggae, funk, and dub, driven by vintage keyboard sounds, with influences from soul jazz and African music.
