Record collector, DJ and producer Gary Ellis, better known as South Beach Recycling, is like many of us — completely lost in music. A lifelong digger with an ear for the obscure and the soulful, Gary has steadily developed a distinctive sound that blends the grit of classic house music with the warmth of disco, jazz and underground dance culture. His debut album, Obsessive Compulsive Disco, released on Atjazz Record Company in 2022, perfectly captures this ethos. A collection of deeply personal "rough cuts", the album draws inspiration from the raw house sounds of 1990s Detroit, Chicago and the UK underground, delivering ten tracks packed with chunky grooves, dusty textures and heartfelt musicality. Featuring standout moments such as C Dogs Wish, Sunset 313, SX Inspiration and Jonny's Hustle, the album established South Beach Recycling as a producer with a unique voice and a genuine love for the craft.
