Underground καλλιτέχνης indie electronic
Living somewhere in the ether of reality, SQUARMS paint an unflinching portrait of 21st-century Northern England — a world seen through the fog of collapsing power structures, bleak mid-winters, and the slow digitisation of human consciousness. Their music captures the tension between detachment and defiance; the scream into the void when everything feels too quiet. Emerging from Newcastle upon Tyne’s underground scene, early singles like She Left The TV On and Peace Lover established their hauntingly electronic yet human sound — a psychedelic distortion of indie, trip-hop, and experimental pop. Their debut album Goodbye Thinking expanded that vision into a conceptual long-form project: a critique of humanity’s future told through isolation, introspection, and the surreal glow of remote digital life. Following the album’s release, the duo toured Japan in 2024, blending live vocal manipulation and immersive visuals into a hypnotic performance experience. SQUARMS are now writing new material for their next chapter — a continuation of their exploration into the collapse and re-awakening of the modern self.
