Strange Hotels

Composed of cousins and longtime musical partners Ben Braden and Nick Sadler, Strange Hotels emerged out of Portland touring band The Lower 48, after Ben and Nick had shifted to solo endeavors. After linking up to collaborate on tracks with one another, they realized that their best tracks were those they worked on as a unit and thus, Strange Hotels was born in 2018. Within weeks of their formation, the newly formed duo had the opportunity to open for Billie Eilish at The Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon jumpstarting a trajectory that would land them sync placements on Shameless (Music From The Television Series), Vice’s KING OF THE ROAD, and Conan O'Brien's Needs a Friend. 'Hideout In The District' is a testament to the band’s name, inspired by a lyric in Bob Dylan’s “Simple Twist of Fate” reflecting a love for serendipity and unexpected turns coupled with their road-tested dedication to their musical craftsmanship. Through this robust 17-track venture, it is evident that the album’s namesake of hiding out in their DTLA studio encompasses the DIY grit of self-produced, mixed, and mastered music; the polish and attention-to-detail akin to mainstream production powerhouses; and an eclectic palate of music that mirrors the vibrancy of Los Angeles itself.
