Sunday Saari

Brooklyn-based emerging artist Sunday Saari moves through the world with open eyes and a burning heart. A queer singer, songwriter, and visual storyteller, she weaves alt-pop as a means of sacred memory and of radical softness. Raised between Southside Chicago and Minneapolis, Sunday’s earliest songs were written at the kitchen table with her father and sung in her mother’s church. Her formative performance education came from the drag queens who surrounded her growing up in teaching her presence, power, and how to command a room without apology. Sunday’s work lives at the intersection of emotional excavation and sensory immersion. She writes songs for the moments we can’t put into words. With a background in musical theater, refined through her studies at CMU, and her love for Soul, Pop and indie, her sonic taste is shaped to be rich and expressive, melodically saturated while rooted in emotion and precise in delivery. Sunday draws influences from artists like Amy Winehouse, Caroline Polachek, and Phoebe Bridgers. With a mission to build art that amplifies queer voices, Sunday strives to carve space for emotional honesty, and invites us all to feel more.
