Born in BC to her young parents, Terror Bird aka Nikki Nevver is a prolific songwriter best known for her heavy participation in and coining of the term "bedroom pop". Terror Bird's music is described as emotionally cathartic, lyrically authentic, poetic, + witty. As a teen in Vancouver, Nikki played experimental + punk music. Terror Bird first started writing songs at age 16. By 20 she moved to Montreal briefly + began writing songs inspired by Leonard Cohen, 80s pop + indie folk artists on her roommate's piano and acoustic guitar. Her roommate said he couldn't use his instruments after because her spirit had gone into them Terror Bird is known for her debut cassette, "Sociopaths are Glam" + dark synth bedroom pop album "All This Time." Singles like "Cemeteries", and" Shadows in the Halls" from a Rough Trade compilation including Fever Ray Zola Jesus, Cold Cave, Grimes) are fan favourites. In recent years, Nikki Nevver has teamed up with producers Jason Corbett + Jordan Koop to achieve a clearer sound on her newer albums and future singles. Terror Bird live once featured Nikki's ex-husband Jeremiah as well as Daniel Pitout (Orville Peck) on synth but is a now cast of rotating Vancouver female friends. The band has played with TR/ST, Xiu Xiu, The Human League + Future Islands. They have toured with Molly Nilsson, Die Selektion, Silent Star, Videotraum, Apostille, M!R!M and Patriarchy. Other notable projects: Subterranean Lovers, Automatic Fancy, Modern Creatures.
