Ντόπιος, underground καλλιτέχνης folk
'I'll never forget when someone in the audience said to me in French that my music was like 'la griffe de chat' - the cat's claw!' says Justin Sicile. Despite the tension that builds and irritates below the fur, Sicile finds release and goes gently, because, well, he wants to be close to humans after all. The Giving Style is Justin Sicile's vision for a chunky, psychedelic folk outfit that nourishes its community with a playfulness and sincerity that it can get cozy with. TGS first learned to walk in Paris and evolved into a mature musical being later in London. It’s there that Sicile would cross paths with parcours lover and drummer, producer Adam Skinner. In 2017 Skinner and Sicile cut the four song EP titled 'Monster Tracks for Bread Lovers.' In 2019 Sicile brought his solo project Pear Person out into the universe performing instrumental, atmospheric guitar-based grooves and melodies with jazz drummer Ildefons Alonso. From 2021 until present, Sicile has been writing and recording songs with older and isolated individuals to help reduce loneliness. His project Pear Person Tackles Loneliness is supported by Arts Council England and was given a ‘Project We Love’ by Kickstarter. The 6 tracks produced by Oli James (@Themodernworld) were written by Sicile and the older community of North London. Sicile performs solo or is joined on stage by a full band that embellishes the Americana-esque, jazz-influenced, soulful, lo-fi sound of The Giving Style.
The Giving Style plays guitar-driven psychedelic folk infused with soulful, lo-fi, and jazz-influenced sensibilities.
