Started as a home recording project around 2003 by Joe Wiltshire and Marc Johnston. The duo recruited friends Pete Gough, Liam Riley & Stuart Pratt and were signed to Birmingham based label San Remo, an independent ran by ex members of 80s indie band Felt. The band recorded their debut album Cut Your Key and received high praise from the likes of Mark Radcliffe, Bob Harris, Janice Long, Marc Riley, Tom Robinson, as well as from music magazines Record Collector, Uncut & Shindig. Their debut single Callooh Callay! was named single of the week on BBC Radio 2 - All Songs. They also played 2 live sessions for Live Radio BBC Radio 6. The band then went through various line up changes with Robyn Gibson coming in on vocals & they recorded a further 3 albums, Paint the Ground, Red Bouquet Fair & in 2024 Imaginary Friends. Their 2024 single Annie Almond was named track of week on BBC radio. The band own a large collection of vintage instruments and enjoy experimenting by fusing them with more modern sounds and effects to create a brand of pop music influenced by the likes of Paul McCartney, Curt Boettcher & his associated acts The Millennium & Sagittarius. Emitt Rhodes, Honeybus, Todd Rundgren, The Beta Band, The Incredible String Band, The Elephant 6 Collective, Klaatu, Jimmie Spheeris etc.
