The Milkman & Sons is a Brooklyn based band that pays homage to all the American Roots music of the past and specializes in Traditional Blues and Prohibition Jazz. They are known for their ability to take audiences in a musical time machine by playing the music of such varied notables as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael and Little Walter as well as original music written in a similar style. While the band is always fronted by singer/songwriter, harmonica player and guitarist, Marcus (The Milkman) Milius he is accompanied by his ‘Sons’, a rotating cast of local musicians. The band usually performs as a trio but can expand to a sextet including drums or even adding horns. They developed their craft playing up to six nights a week at local bars, restaurants and events. Marcus has long backed up other musicians as a sideman, playing all over the US, Japan, Europe and Scandinavia. Now he’s ready to step out on his own.
