Since forming in 2021, The Prize has established itself as one of Melbourne's premier rock and roll outfits. Funnelling vocal soaked hooks through a three guitar onslaught and pulsating rhythm section, this unique blend of power pop and rock and roll has earned them notice the world over. The band, which features drummer Nadine Muller sharing lead vocals with guitarist Carey Paterson, together with Joseph Imfeld and Austin Haire on guitar and Ethan Stahl on bass, is known for its powerful three-guitar frontline and melodic twin lead guitar. They combine punk and classic rock and roll with power pop and new wave, citing influences like Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick, Pretenders, Blondie, Rolling Stones, Faces, Flamin' Groovies, Tom Petty, Dwight Twilley, Phil Seymour, The Toms, The Nerves and The Motors. As a premium live act with the tunes to back it up, The Prize have regularly found themselves supporting legendary groups like the Pavement, Sunnyboys, The Stems and Guitar Wolf. They have also twice toured the EU/UK supporting King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and The Murlocs in 2024, and The Chats in 2024. The Prize at long last released their debut album 'In The Red' on September 19 2025 via Anti Fade Records in Australia and Goner Records in the USA. They have recently shared the new single "From The Night" and premiered its clip.
