The Solomon Gundy Band release their debut album Hancestry on July 31st 2026- a deeply personal expression of renewal, a unique interracial identity, and redefined boundaries. A powerful statement of resilience and return, representing a bridge between the 80s Jazz Warriors pioneers and the UK ‘new thing’, Sean Corby assembles a multi-generational line-up of international talent with guest appearances from Courtney Pine, Sultan Stevenson, Julie Dexter and Trinidad’s Drew Gonsalves. Led by veteran trumpeter and UK Jazz catalyst Sean Corby, Hancestry is the culmination of a decades-long struggle through music, personal crises, and emergence. Drawing on a rich palette of cultural influences that span sound system sensibilities, afro-diasporic ritual, jazz, soul and electronica, Corby brings forth a sound he calls “conscious sound system Jazz for the 21st century”
